December was a bit of a blur, but here are some highlights! 1. Kirby got sick on Christmas eve, with the flu. On Christmas day we went to the only open doctor's office we could find, and he tested positive for the flu type A. Of course, there were only 3 pharmacy's open on Christmas day, and all of them were out of the medication Tamiflu, so by the time we were able to get some, it was passed the 48 hour mark, so it would not have done him any good. That's ok, it saved us $80! 2. We got a toilet seat for our kids for Christmas. I thought it would be a funny gag gift! I wanted to get one that had fish on it, so it would at least be a cute toilet seat. The only thing I could find was a fish "cling" that would stick to the toilet seat. So I bought it and a new toilet seat. Jared thought that the thing wouldn't stick on very well by itself, so he bought some contact cement to permanently glue it on. Of course nothing goes as planned! He starts to brush on the contact cement, and the edges of the fish plastic start to curl up. He's doing this on the entry way tile (duh!). I go to help him, and as we're trying to left it up, Jared knocks over the whole can of contact cement! We manage to get it on the toilet seat, and it's crooked! Well, he have to clean up the contact cement, and I don't know if you know how messy it is, but it's really sticky! So as we're cleaning this up, it's getting all over our hands. Later when I tried to straighten out the fish sticker, it ripped! Also contact cement is permanent. So, we've ruined the fish sticker, we've ruined the new toilet seat, luckily we got if off the tile, but it was a pain to get it off our hands! We had to scrap it off! Sadly I didn't get any pictures of the new toilet seat, we got some video of it. It would've been really cute. Maybe next month I'll try again! 3. Just in time for school to start, Murphy gets sick. He only had a cold, but he still had a headache, and he wasn't moving much. There's something wrong if Murphy's not moving! He missed the first two days back to school. Darn! Luckily he's feeling better now! 4. We had a fun time digitizing our old video tapes from the video camera. We got the video camera in 2001 when Jared and I got married. We have 18 tapes total. 13 of them were all before Kirby was born! So that's 13 tapes within 3 years. We have lots of video of Murphy as a baby. Murphy smiling, Murphy eating, Murphy walking, Murphy Murphy Murphy! Then Kirby came along, and apparently I was busy with two kids, cuz we hardly have any video of him! Oooops! The poor neglected 2nd child! Although we did find a hilarious clip of Kirby's 3rd birthday. I'll have to post that later!
Ok, this has gone long enough....and amazingly no pictures!
You know you're a photographer when you have thousands of pictures, and you're NOT in ANY of them!
McGyver meets the Nutty Professor!
This is my man, my main squeeze. He can make a marble shooter out of a weed whacker engine!
My baby's in 1st grade already! And luckily he loves it! He likes recess and math the best. He even likes hot lunch and has shocked us all by actually EATING his lunch! This smart cookie likes Bionicles, Magnetix and Transformers. This kid makes us laugh, and he is a great big brother
This adorable child keeps us on our toes. He loves Transformers, and playing with his big brother and his friends. He's quick to smile and laugh, and he always tells you what he is thinking. He is a good helper and an all around jolley guy to hang out with
Our pyscho cat. We are seriously looking into Kitty Prozac for her!
Yep, this is our lazy lion wannabe! He only weighs 17lbs!
Here's our rats, Tiger and Jr. They are snuggly, and for some reason, they always pee on me, (but nobody else!)
Corneata and Zack
We tried raising chickens this year, and I was surprised at how social and fun to watch they are. I loved the way they walk! Our poor chickens met with disaster though, the nieghbors dogs ate them. I guess having a fence, or even a proper chicken coop is neccessary. Who knew?
