Snorkeling!

On one of Jared's day off, we went snorkeling at Shark's Cove.  We didn't see any sharks, but saw lots of fish!  The boys had a great time!

Sylvie wasn't too excited about the water, in fact she hated it!  So I spent most of my time on the beach with her, which is ok with me, cuz I don't like the water that much either!
Jared said I had to try snorkeling at least once.  So I did!  I HATE putting my face in the water.  As soon as I got up to snorkel, the sun went behind a cloud and it got really windy.  So I was freezing!  The mask made me feel claustrophobic.  I ended up just dunking my head under the water, I saw a fish, and called it good!  We took a picture afterward.  Gotta love that mask baby!  So sexy!!!

Hawaii!!!

We finally made it to Hawaii!  Sylvie slept on the plane, and the boys slept a little on the plane too.  Poor Kirby got motion sickness at the end of the plane ride, and felt like he was going to throw up.  Luckily he didn't!  Jared had the 4th of July off, so we got an extra day with him!  I was so glad, and we had lots more fun when he was with us, it wasn't quite as stressful!

Here is the view from the balcony of the condo that we stayed at.  We were able to stay with Jared so we didn't have to pay for lodging!  Almost everyplace in Hawaii is post card beautiful!
Murphy hanging out on the balcony.
We hiked Monoa Falls on the 4th.  It was gorgeous!  Gotta love that rainforest!  There was a tree with vines in the parking lot and the boys had fun playing Tarzan on it!
 Jared catches some major air!

Somebody was nice enough to take a picture of us

Vacation Part 1

If I don't start blogging about this now, it'll never happen!  Just like with last years trip to San Diego, I had the best intentions of blogging about it, and I never got around to it.  So, I'm starting off slow so that I don't get overwhelmed and put the whole thing off.

This vacation all started with Jared's job.  He had the opportunity to go to Hawaii for work.  I know that sounds like fun, but he works 12 hour days, 6 days a week.  Anyways, I thought it would be fun for us to visit him while he was there.  At least we would have a place to stay for free.  This was one of those ideas that I didn't think through all the way!  In fact, I bought the airline tickets way too early, and had I stopped to think about what I was doing, I probably wouldn't have bought them in the first place!  As it was, I did buy them, and regretted it.  It was way too expensive to change the tickets, so I decided to go ahead with our plans!  Not only did I decide that we would do Hawaii, I discovered that it was considerably cheaper to fly out of San Diego than Salt Lake, so I decided to drive to San Diego first.  My dad lives there, and he hadn't met Sylvia yet, so it was a good opportunity.  Jared was already in Hawaii at this point, so that left me doing a 12 hour drive with two kids and a baby.  Wow, am I nuts or what?  Luckily my boys are old enough to help out with the baby, so it was ok.  We stopped in Vegas on our way down so that we didn't have to drive 12 hours in one day.  There's no way that Sylvia would've made it that long in a car! Who am I kidding, I wouldn't have lasted that long driving!
Here's some pictures from the first part of our trip:

Sylvie getting sick of being in the car.  I love her pouty face!

At my dad's house! Finally!  These are my dad and step mom's dogs, Mona and Jazz.  Yes, they're pit bulls, and they are the best trained dogs I have ever seen!  Sylvie was fascinated by them, and they're so sweet!

We went to the San Diego Safari Park.

My favorite part was the lions.  What can I say, I'm a cat lover!

Sylvie took a good nap!  I got a picture of her sleeping at every place we went, should make for an entertaining scrapbook page.

The boy's favorite part was the slushees!

I love this picture!  Sylvie already wants to be a photographer!  Makes me proud!

Here's the boys playing at Imperial Beach, my second home!
