Bobbin Hood

My friend Gredel had this awesome ideal of taking a fairy tale and adding your kids pictures to it.  So I decided to try it out.  I've rewritten one of my favorites, and I had way too much fun doing this!  This was also a labor of love, because it took a really long time to do it!  I loved every minute of it!  Enjoy!

Sylvia's Room Make-Over!

When Murphy was a baby, I wanted to paint and decorate his room, and have it look so cute!  But, we moved into a new house when he was 9 months old, we had other projects to get done, other rooms to paint.  Then we had Kirby.  It seems like we got nothing done when we had two little boys running around!  By the time we got around to painting the boy's room, Murphy decided that he wanted to keep it white!  Kirby on the other hand had his painted yellow with blue accents.  Anyways, I was given this box of adorable little girl decorations, and I decided to not make the same mistake of waiting to decorate!  After all, Murphy is now 12 years old!  Time flies!  So I was inspired by these decorations to paint and go all out in Sylvia's room!  Before I know it, she'll be 12 and wanting to paint her room black or some other crazy color!  So special thanks to Connie, for getting the decorations to me.  Special thanks to Melissa and Ella for sharing these decorations with Sylvia.
Here's the before shots.  Notice the blue curtains left over from when Murphy was a baby!
The bulletin board, also a relic of Murphy's!
Taping off so I can do multiple colors!
 Finished product!
Special thanks also goes to Nikki for doing the vinyl lettering!
I love how it turned out!  Now I just need to do mine and Jared's room.....

Goblin Valley

We went to Goblin Valley a couple of weeks ago, it's one of our favorite places to visit! We let this cute little Tigger out to bounce around, after all it's her favorite thing to do!
The first day we went we hiked Ding and Dang.  It was beautiful, and Kirby only fell once, although it was a really good fall, off of a rock, but luckily he was fine.

Jared hanging from a rock, yep, gotta love it!
Here's Jared climbing up a very steep rock wall.....
Here is Murphy's reaction to watching his dad climb up the very steep wall!  Hilarious!  And no, this was not a posed picture, Murphy was really giving him THAT look!  He's ready to be a teenager...
 After Ding and Dang!

Meanwhile, we left Sylvie home with the grandparents, those poor people! She was so naughty, I owe them chocolate!  She refused to take a nap, would scream at grandma every time she got close to her with.  She finally wore herself out enough that she feel asleep by their trailer door!
The next day we did Little Wild Horse.  We took Sylvie with us this time!
She loves rocks!  She was happy and content to just walk around picking up rocks.
Here's dad teaching her how to scale rock walls!
 I love the slot canyons!

The 3 omigoes!  Murphy, my niece Alexis and Kirby.
I love this shot of Kirby
Here we are at Valley of the Goblins.

Look!  They're sitting the same way!

Murphy takes a leap of faith!
 And Makes it!
Kirby wisely chooses not to jump!
 Jared leaps
 And misses!
Actually he made it a couple of times, but I had to include the shot of him giving the rock some "love"!
Also, Murphy took these last two shots of his dad.  He's becoming quite the photographer!

Snorkeling!

On one of Jared's day off, we went snorkeling at Shark's Cove.  We didn't see any sharks, but saw lots of fish!  The boys had a great time!

Sylvie wasn't too excited about the water, in fact she hated it!  So I spent most of my time on the beach with her, which is ok with me, cuz I don't like the water that much either!
Jared said I had to try snorkeling at least once.  So I did!  I HATE putting my face in the water.  As soon as I got up to snorkel, the sun went behind a cloud and it got really windy.  So I was freezing!  The mask made me feel claustrophobic.  I ended up just dunking my head under the water, I saw a fish, and called it good!  We took a picture afterward.  Gotta love that mask baby!  So sexy!!!

Jared is part fish
