December was a bit of a blur, but here are some highlights!
1. Kirby got sick on Christmas eve, with the flu. On Christmas day we went to the only open doctor's office we could find, and he tested positive for the flu type A. Of course, there were only 3 pharmacy's open on Christmas day, and all of them were out of the medication Tamiflu, so by the time we were able to get some, it was passed the 48 hour mark, so it would not have done him any good. That's ok, it saved us $80!
2. We got a toilet seat for our kids for Christmas. I thought it would be a funny gag gift! I wanted to get one that had fish on it, so it would at least be a cute toilet seat. The only thing I could find was a fish "cling" that would stick to the toilet seat. So I bought it and a new toilet seat. Jared thought that the thing wouldn't stick on very well by itself, so he bought some contact cement to permanently glue it on. Of course nothing goes as planned! He starts to brush on the contact cement, and the edges of the fish plastic start to curl up. He's doing this on the entry way tile (duh!). I go to help him, and as we're trying to left it up, Jared knocks over the whole can of contact cement! We manage to get it on the toilet seat, and it's crooked! Well, he have to clean up the contact cement, and I don't know if you know how messy it is, but it's really sticky! So as we're cleaning this up, it's getting all over our hands. Later when I tried to straighten out the fish sticker, it ripped! Also contact cement is permanent. So, we've ruined the fish sticker, we've ruined the new toilet seat, luckily we got if off the tile, but it was a pain to get it off our hands! We had to scrap it off! Sadly I didn't get any pictures of the new toilet seat, we got some video of it. It would've been really cute. Maybe next month I'll try again!
3. Just in time for school to start, Murphy gets sick. He only had a cold, but he still had a headache, and he wasn't moving much. There's something wrong if Murphy's not moving! He missed the first two days back to school. Darn! Luckily he's feeling better now!
4. We had a fun time digitizing our old video tapes from the video camera. We got the video camera in 2001 when Jared and I got married. We have 18 tapes total. 13 of them were all before Kirby was born! So that's 13 tapes within 3 years. We have lots of video of Murphy as a baby. Murphy smiling, Murphy eating, Murphy walking, Murphy Murphy Murphy! Then Kirby came along, and apparently I was busy with two kids, cuz we hardly have any video of him! Oooops! The poor neglected 2nd child! Although we did find a hilarious clip of Kirby's 3rd birthday. I'll have to post that later!
Ok, this has gone long enough....and amazingly no pictures!

How do you digitize old video tapes? I really need to do that.
